WebbConnect Troubleshooting - Cookies and Firewall Settings

 

In order to use our WebbConnect Online Ordering System, you must have "cookies" enabled on your computer.  Please refer to the appropriate section below for instructions on configuring your browser, antivirus and/or firewall settings.

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Modify your browser cookie settings and  restart your browser
  2. Modify your security/firewall/anti-virus  software settings
     

Modify your security/firewall/anti-virus software settings

Security/firewall/anti-virus software can sometimes affect how browsers handle cookies. Please make sure you  have cookies enabled in your software, or add "www.VictorMfg.com" to  your "safe list" of sites.

Zone Alarm: Please see ZoneAlarm Support.

Norton Products: Please see Norton Support.

McAfee Privacy Service: Please see McAfee support.
 

Modify your browser's cookie settings

Windows Browsers

Internet Explorer 8

  1. In the Menu bar, select: Tools  >  Internet Options > Privacy tab  to see the Privacy Settings box.
  2. In the Privacy Settings box click on the Advanced button to see the Advanced Privacy Settings box.
  3. Choose Accept for both First-party Cookies and Third-party Cookies.
  4. Click OK to close Advanced Privacy Settings box.
  5. Click OK to close Internet Options box.
  6. Close all Internet Explorer browsers.
  7. Open a new Internet Explorer browser.

Internet Explorer 7

  1. Please upgrade your browser! With a browser this old, even if  cookies were enabled in your browser you should upgrade to ensure a secure user experience!
  2. In the Menu bar, select: Tools > Internet Options >Privacy tab. The Privacy Settings box appears.
  3. Drag the slider down to Accept All Cookies.
  4. Click OK to close Internet options.
  5. Close all Internet Explorer browsers.
  6. Open a new Internet Explorer browser.

Internet Explorer 6

  1. Please upgrade your browser! With a browser this old, even if  cookies were enabled in your browser you should upgrade to ensure a secure user experience!
  2. In the Menu bar, select: Tools > Internet Options >Privacy tab > Advanced to see the Advanced Privacy Settings  box.
  3. In the Cookies section, choose Override automatic cookie handling.
  4. Under First-party Cookies, select Accept.
  5. Under Third-party Cookies, select Block.
  6. Select Always allow session cookies.
  7. Click OK to close the Advanced  Privacy Settings box.
  8. Click OK to close Internet options.
  9. Close all Internet Explorer browsers.
  10. Open a new Internet Explorer browser.

Internet Explorer 5 or older

Please upgrade your browser! With a browser this old, even if  cookies were enabled in your browser you should upgrade to ensure a secure user experience!

Non-Windows Browsers

Firefox 3.x

  1. In the Menu bar, select: Tools > Options >Privacy (panel).
  2. Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history
  3. Check mark Accept cookies from sites to enable Cookies, and uncheck it to disable them.
    • If you are troubleshooting problems with cookies, make sure Accept third party cookiesis also check marked.
    • For more information, see Disabling third party cookies.
  4. Choose how long cookies are allowed to be stored:
    • Keep until: they expire: Each cookie will be removed when it reaches its expiration date, which is set by the site that sent the cookie.
    • Keep until: I close Firefox: The cookies that are stored on your computer will be removed when Firefox is closed.
    • Keep until: ask me every time: Displays an alert every time a website tries to send a cookie, and asks you whether or not you want to store it.
  5. Click OK to close the Options window.
  6. Close all Firefox web browsers.
  7. Open a new Firefox browser.

Firefox 2.0.x

  1. Please upgrade your browser! With a browser this old, even if  cookies were enabled in your browser you should upgrade to ensure a secure user experience!
  2. In the Menu bar, select: Tools > Options >Privacy (tab) > Exceptions to see the Exceptions - Cookies box.
  3. In the Exceptions - Cookies box you will see a list of web sites that are allowed to use cookies.
  4. If www.FWWebb.com is not listed, type it in the Address of web site box and click on the Allow for Session button.
  5. Click Close.
  6. Click OK to close the Exceptions - Cookies box.
  7. Close all Firefox web browsers.
  8. Open a new Firefox browser.

Chrome 8.0.x

  1. Click on Wrench icon on the upper right-hand corner and choose Options to open the Google Chrome Options box.
  2. Click on the Under the Hood tab and then click on the Content Settings button under Privacy to open the Cookie Settings box.
  3. Click on the Cookies option on the left hand column and choose Allow local data to be set (recommended).
  4. Click on the Close button on the Cookie Settings box.
  5. Click on the Close button on the Google Chrome Options box.
  6. Close all Chrome web browsers.
  7. Open a new Chrome web browser.

Opera 10.x

  1. Choose Menu in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Select Settings > Preferences.
  3. Clikck on the Advanced tab.
  4. Choose Cookies in the last hand column and select Accept cookies..
  5. Click OK.
  6. Close all Opera web browsers.
  7. Open a new Opera web browser.

America Online (AOL)  AOL 9..x

  1. On the AOL toolbar, click Settings.
  2. Click the A-Z tab.
  3. Look under "I", and click Internet [Web] Options.
  4. On the right-hand side click Internet Explorer Settings.
  5. Click the Privacy tab on the new screen that pops up.
  6. Click the Advanced button.
  7. Click the Override automatic cookie handling so a check comes up in the box.
  8. Then, check the Accept "First-Party Cookies" and "Third-Party Cookies".
  9. Check the Always allow session cookies button.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK again.

Macintosh Browsers

Safari 3.0x - Safari 5.0x

  1. Choose Safari > Preferences.
  2. Click Security.
  3. In the Accept Cookies section, choose how you want Safari to handle cookies. Click the Help(question mark) button to see an explanation of the options.
  4. If you want to see more information about the cookies stored on your computer, click Show Cookies. The following information is displayed for each cookie:
    • Website that stored the cookie
    • Name
    • Path, or location, on your computer
    • Secure status; cookies marked "secure" are sent over an encrypted connection
    • Expiration date; when it will be removed from your computer
    • Content; normally a string of code
  5. If you've set Safari to block cookies, you may need to temporarily accept cookies to open a page. Repeat the above steps, selecting Always. When you're done with the page, turn off cookies again and remove the page's cookies.
