City of Boston tops in Energy Efficiency

F.W. Webb Company

The F.W. Webb location in South Boston is proud to be one of Boston's many green buildings using energy wisely and contributing to the city's impressive designation by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy as the most energy efficient city in the nation. Built in 2011, the modern Webb facility in Boston's iconic "Southie" neighborhood features a geothermal hybrid HVAC system, photo voltaic solar panels, energy-saving lighting fixtures, low-water toilets and faucets, Energy Star-rated systems, additional insulation beyond code and bicycle racks.

Situated at 307 Dorchester Ave., the 44,000-sq.-ft. location houses an F.W. Webb self-service wholesale counter store and Frank Webb's destination bath, kitchen and lighting showroom – both supported by a large warehouse teeming with inventory. One of Webb’s busiest, this location services contractors, builders, designers, architects, engineers and homeowners in the heart of one of the largest construction booms in Boston's 387-year history.

"F.W. Webb in South Boston is a green building that helps neighboring businesses, institutions and homes become and stay green too," said Tom Blades, general manager of the F.W. Webb South Boston location. "Our customers are lined up outside our door nearly every morning before 6:00 a.m. to select from our vast inventory, which includes a great variety of the latest high-efficiency products."
