F.W. Webb recently donated all of the plumbing products needed to finish constructing the bathrooms as part of Ironstone Farm’s new Retreat Center. The materials included faucets, fixtures, toilets, water lines and miscellaneous fittings.
Located in Andover, MA, the center was four years in the making. Ironstone converted the former 3-bedroom, 1-bath farmhouse into a 13-bedroom (2 beds per room), 6-bath facility. Hundreds of workers, including contractors and trades people, donated thousands of volunteer hours to complete construction.
The new facility provides overnight lodging for people participating in the equine-assisted therapeutic programs.
Through their two non-profit organizations — Challenge Unlimited and Ironstone Therapy — Ironstone runs programs that improve the quality of life for their clients.
Their programs include therapeutic and recreational riding, OT/PT, a veteran’s experience and cancer retreats. Ironstone also runs one-week long summer programs for new riders.
Ironstone helps children and adults with various conditions including:
"This house allows us to grow our programming and to serve and support more of the community," said Kerri Whalen, Executive Director of Challenge Unlimited at Ironstone Farm. "This is a really significant achievement for us in terms of our future and the growth of Ironstone."
