In conversation after conversation with our team, we hear the same concern: the biggest challenge facing you, our customers, is the lack of people entering trade careers. The skilled labor shortage is an issue crucial to F.W. Webb and to the future of the industries we serve.
Thankfully, Bring Back the Trades is working to reverse this trend. F.W. Webb began sponsoring the national non-profit group earlier this year, and support for their mission has grown remarkably in recent months.
Following a successful event in Londonderry, NH, in April (see coverage here), Bring Back the Trades hosted a Skills Expo at the Vermont State University Castleton Campus on May 20th. F.W. Webb proudly served as the event’s title sponsor. Reflecting incredible demand, the Skills Expo sold out, drawing more than 2,200 students, parents, teachers, and others.
The Expo featured hands-on demonstrations, giveaways, and opportunities to meet with almost 70 organizations, including F.W. Webb.
F.W. Webb embraced the Expo in full force, with members from General Manager Bryan Bradley's Rutland, VT, eam joined by Regional Heating Managers Jake Fernandes and Erica Levasseur, who showcased our Mobile Hydronics Truck, and representatives from F.W. Webb's marketing department.
"We're honored to work with so many partners to make this experience possible for thousands of attendees, and we're incredibly thankful to F.W. Webb as our Title Sponsor, and all of our sponsors for stepping up to support workforce development in such a big way," said Bring Back the Trades founder Steve Turner, in a statement prior to the event
What's next for the F.W. Webb-Bring Back the Trades partnership? All attention now turns to October 25th, when the group will host a Skills Expo at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. F.W. Webb will be there, supporting another opportunity to build the future of the skilled trades workforce. For more information about the event at Gillette Stadium, please visit bringbackthetrades.org.
