The shop buzzes to life as the welders begin to operate. In one corner of the massive fabrication warehouse, our team finishes wrapping a bundle of steel pipe. It will soon be installed as part of a sprinkler system, standing ready to protect lives and property.

"Given the seriousness of your work, we pride ourselves on doing everything we can to support you, whether you're a sprinkler system installer, service professional, or technician," says Randy Beatrice, General Manager of F.W. Webb's Fire Protection and Fabrication division. Randy leads our team that provides personalized service, convenient deliveries, and efficient turnaround for professionals like you.

Our fabrication shop, located in Canton, MA, operates three automated welders from NAP. With just the measurements of the desired system, the machines make several hundred welds per shift.

"A 50-weld job could take a few hours—200-300 welds could take half a day," Randy says. "The length of the process depends on many factors: the number of cuts and welds, the required pipe lengths, the need for threaded or grooved connections, and other considerations. But with our experienced team, and our equipment, we'll keep your projects moving."

We recently added a state-of-the-art grooving machine that etches grooves at the exact depth required for each joint. Randy notes the industry is moving towards more grooved pipe because it accelerates installations. Grooved connections also have fewer leak points and stronger joints.

With this modern equipment, plus more traditional hand-welding tools, our team works quickly, saving you valuable time.

Custom Fabrication of Fire Protection Systems with Sprinklers, Valves, and Other Essentials in Stock

To begin, send your order to the Fire Protection and Fabrication email address. From there, your project specifications will be loaded into our system and processed for quote approval. Once that's complete, the order will be printed for cut sheets and labels that will be attached to each piece of pipe.

"We conduct an extensive consultation with you before we create the cut sheet," says Randy. "Our team ensures everything is correct—all to deliver the highest level of service for you."

When our fabrication team completes the work, we'll bundle the materials according to your needs and deliver them on your schedule.

"We'll coordinate with your team on a time that works for you," Randy says. "We'll do early morning or off-hour deliveries if necessary. For example, schools may require deliveries at specific times to avoid disruption of classes."

We also scale our work depending on the size of the job. Our team recently supported projects at the training facility and Atrium remodel at Gillette Stadium. We've also supplied materials for other large-scale or institutional projects, including for Brown University, MIT, One Dalton in Boston, and the Great Wolf Lodge in Connecticut. But if you're starting out as an installer, or if you're looking to expand your business, our team can help.

In addition to providing custom fabrication, we stock around 2,000 fire protection products, including seismic hangers and other crucial system components. These products are available at our stores across our footprint. That's not all: our Canton location keeps about seven miles of pipe on site, with CPVC and other options available, meaning our team is ready to help whenever you need us.

Our Proud Tradition of Excellence

F.W. Webb entered the pipe fabrication sector more than 50 years ago following the acquisition of Atlantic Pipe & Supply in Boston. The operation eventually moved to Stoughton, and now to its current site in Canton, where it has operated for more than 20 years.

The Canton facility is staffed by more than 50 of our employees—about half of whom work directly on the fabrication process. The shop serves much of the Northeast; it's complemented by our operation in West Babylon, NY, that covers Long Island and New York City.

Randy guides the Canton team with nearly two decades of experience at the company. He's a product of F.W. Webb's management training program and has served as Canton's General Manager for more than ten years.

"I've had the pleasure of working with many tradespeople through the years—sprinkler system installers and service technicians like you—and I welcome you to explore the many options we feature to support your work, " Randy says. "We're not just a supplier; we're a resource for you, and whether you're looking to expand your operations or make your existing workflows easier, we've got everything you need."
