American Standard's ENS 40-Gallon Residential Electric Water Heater - an NAECA-compliant tank - has surface-mount thermostats for fully automatic temperature control, dual screw-in heating elements that directly transfer heat to the water to conserve energy, and self-cleans to diminish hard water sediment deposits.

The heavy-gauge steel tank is glass-lined to protect against erosion and includes a magnesium anode rod to optimize the tank's lifespan. The tank includes a plastic drain valve, temperature and pressure relief valves, and is Underwriters Labs certified.
