The energy-efficient Professional Classic Plus Powered Damper gas water heaters meet or exceed the latest Energy Star requirements. The 24-volt powered flue damper is positioned atop the unit. It opens and closes automatically in response to gas-burner activity. When the combustion stops, it signals the damper to close, trapping the heat inside the flue and delivering more heat to the water.
This Classic Plus 38-gallon tall residential water heat provides 40,000 BTU/h heating capacity and has an eco-friendly, low NOx burner. Its self-diagnostic system offers improved monitoring and service, and its Guardian System offers additional safety with an exclusive air/fuel shut-off device that disables the heater if flammable vapor accumulation is detected. The unit is also certified for both efficient potable water and space heating.
